TV and Twilight Stars...Wed, 31 st Oct

To-day we jumped in the free shuttle bus to the Transit Centre, bought a day transit ticket ($5) and took the Green line train, the Red line which turned out to be the Purple line, then the real Red line, then the Blue line into Hollywood and came out right at the subway entrance at Madame Tousard's and Marilyn Monroe!

Then I dropped my camera and smashed it...the shutter button broke off and the insides came out...sob, sob!
My faithful little servant it has been. So I have to go buy a new on in the morning before we head off to have tea on the Queen Mary at Long Beach before heading into Anaheim and the Hacienda Hotel just a block from Disneyland.

There is a really nice girl from Estonia, Moonica, who flew into LA the same day as us and she has been in Australia for a year on a working holiday. We met and all hung out to-day and the 3 of us are planning a 3 day trip to grand Canyon, Las Vegas and Hoover Dam on Monday next.

To-day after smashing my camera we went along the Boulevard of Stars and were given a free pass to the taping of the To-Night Show with Jay Lerno...
We caught a bus and went to Burbank, NBC studios, about a 15 minute bus ride and waited in the inevitable queues the Americans seem to insist you wait in for hours. We eventually were ushered in to the taping of the show and were surprised it went so fast and so well.

We saw in real life the Twilight star, Taylor Lautner a famous female singer, Macy Gray and a mind reader, Lior Suchard, who did a mind read on Taylor and he couldn't believe how good the guy was and promptly moved away from him on the seat...very good.

We were duly entertained and finished an enjoyable day having yummy tacos in Hollywood on the way home to the hostel out at Inglewood, 30 mins away, where we were late for the Halloween party the Hotel put on.

I am still trying to keep up with the happenings in New York as we would like to go as the tickets are there but it looks like it will be a no go for tomorrow. We won't be able to get a refund on that portion of the flight as the trip to NY, LA and back to Bris was cheaper than the LA trip alone, so we aren't concerned if we don't use that ticket. Plus, we had 24 hrs to cancel it and we didn't, so...we have no refund claim rights anyways.

A beach is a beach...is a beach...anywhere! The lovely beach area near the hotel, very much like Coolum beach...

We were right under the flight path to LA airport but didn't notice the noise at all.
