To Las Vegas and Beyond...Mon 5th Nov 2012

Off to Vegas to-day via the beautiful Mojave Desert.
We are leaving at 5am to catch the Metro to China Town then by bus to Las Vegas for a 4 hour tour of the spots of interest, then to bed as we have to be up again at 5 am to go to the Grand Canyon at 5.10 am.
At the Red line Metro at 5am...headed for Chinatown and the bus to Vegas.
The bus which will take us on tour for 3 days to Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam and Vegas...
The beautifully rugged Mojave Desert, a very spiritual area even from the bus. I was quite moved by this area....
Just like in the movies, only now the horse has been replaced by the truck...
A potty stop halfway to Vegas...
This says it all. The America we see in movies is real...
This Mojave desert is just so very beautiful...
Coming into Vegas...
More of Vegas from the bus...
Our hotel we are staying at for 2 nights...See the tower spike...There's a roller coaster drop up and down on that thing!
On safe ground inside the Hotel/Casino, the Stratosphere...
The view from our 17th floor room...
Our triple share room before we unpacked to go on a 4 hr Vegas by night tour...

The following pics were taken by Val as I got lost in the hotel before we went and had no time to go back and collect my camera for the night tour. So I missed out on taking my own shots. Moonika (the tall one)is going to help out by sending me some of her shots to use later also.
Waiting for the water show in Vegas at the first stop off...The ?...hotel casino
The fabulous hourly water show for free...
This water show went for about 10 minutes to the music from Chicago...All that Jazz.
As Catherine Zeta Jones sang ..."All that jazz", the water danced sideways...awesome!
...and all that jazz...again! With the Eiffel Tower Restaurant in the background.
The final mighty blast upwards...
Inside the next Casino hotel foyer...
This one has the ceiling made of glass flowers at $2,000 a piece!
These places are big and expensive looking but lack depth of character...
Val and Moonika (the tall one) under the glass flower ceiling...
The next Casino had a volcano that rumbled and roared and burst into erupting flames and plumes of smoke and heat...
ooops...this is the volcano before it erupted!
The volcano again...
The candles in the lake are on the same technology as the ones in Phantom...
Inside The Venetian, the only one I can remember name of. It was beautiful and had so much peace, style and character...
Obviously, there had to be gondolas!
Picture perfect...
Then we went to the site of the original LasVegas...this is a live girl sitting on a bar!
A great mural on a Casino wall...
Inside the mall where the old Vegas was...
This is a laser concert projected on the inside of the ceiling dome of this huge building with over 200 cameras. The noise was deafening, but the crowds loved it.
Bon Jovi concert excerpts projected all over the curved ceiling...Amazing.
Dancing with something that wandered by...
Going back to the hotel after a huge day and the end of our 4hr $25 optional tour of 4 of the top hotels of the world.
