A Guiness at Last!...Tuesday 20 Nov 2012

Did my final packing this morning, rinsed a few things out and tidied up my back pack and sorted out brochures I had collected.
My free bus leaves from here for the airport every 2 hrs where I catch another bus to Rosalare, the furthermost point South in Ireland, for the overnight ferry trip to Cherbourg in France.

It's about 30 mins to the airport in traffic, then another 3 hrs down to Wexford, then a short trip to Rosalare, so I'm thinking I'd need to leave here about 12 md to be safe.

The ferry leaves Rosalare at 9.15pm Wed evening and arrives in France at 5.30 pm, Thursday, the next day.
Then I hurriedly get some pics of Cherbourg before it gets too dark, check out the city/town and especially the port as it may have been in 1905. Then catch a train  from Cherbourg for a 3 hr train journey to Paris and then a short walk to the hostel in Gay-Paree!

I've forgotten which hostel I'm booked into. I think it's the red one. Both are under $30 a night, has free WIFI and breakfast and are near the main attractions...I like the ones with timber floors. They are much more slick and cleaner looking, as they are usually more modern with some being custom built as hostels for the modern backpacker...and there are thousands of them! So many Aussies in London, Edinburgh and Dublin.

Had a Guinness his afternoon and it wasn't too bad...but I'm getting cramps now in my tummy...must be the yeast or whatever in it. That's why I don't drink beer!

Also went into the immigration offices to find out how to live in the EU countries and the girl said if I married a native EU citizen, it would be the easiest and best way for me, seeing as my parents aren't citizens!

In Ireland you will notice all the differently coloured doors on the buildings. In days gone by when all the buildings were similarly constructed, people would stagger home from the pubs and bang on the wrong doors, so the law was introduced that every door had to be a different colour...I think it was about 6 colours they had to be separated by. hahaha...Trust the Irish! See the window over the black door building, to the right in the pic, that has the green blind half up on the first floor? That's my bunk you can just see thru the window and my pink wooly hat on the window sill!
Not too sure about this...
Well, here goes...Ummmm, not too bad after all!
I liked this shot...ripples on the water, diamond patterns on the bridge and the straight round columns on the Customs house building behind. It's 4pm here as I headed back to the hostel. Temp to-day about 14 or so, sunny day..
